Edinburg, NY – 26 October 2026 – On October 22nd, Blake Gendebien appeared on NBC’s Meet The Press, where he was pressed by Kristen Welker on whether he would be voting for Hakeem Jeffries if he was to enter Congress in the event that the Democrat party held a majority. Blake Gendebien refused to admit his support for Jeffries twice, despite Kathy Hochul’s admission she and Hakeem collaborated to select him to run for Congress, and Hakeem Jeffries donating the max amount allowed to Blake Gendebien’s campaign, continuing Gendebien’s pattern of deception and lies toward the people of NY-21.
Kristen Welker asked Gendebien, directly, “On Hakeem Jeffries, [...] would you vote for him to be the next Speaker of the House?” Gendebien immediately dodged and refused to answer, claiming that he couldn’t possibly be bothered to answer such a ridiculous hypothetical since he is so busy campaigning! He continued to drone on about irrelevant consultant-crafted talking points, but Welker was not satisfied: “It might not be a hypothetical if Democrats do win back the House, and it is one of the big questions, can you give your constituents a sense of whether you would support Hakeem Jeffries?” Gendebien still refused to answer, opting instead to regurgitate more focus-group tested drivel instead of giving a straight answer to voters in Upstate New York.
The reality is plain, despite how Blake Gendebien attempts to lie and manipulate the people he is asking to send him to Congress: Kathy Hochul said herself that she and Hakeem Jeffries hand-selected several New York Democrats to run for Congress in New York, funneled money into their campaigns, hired 100 staffers, and opened 42 field offices to support the operation. Despite this, Blake won’t even acknowledge he’s ever met Kathy Hochul.
Kathy Hochul holds so much power over Blake Gendebien that she forced him to take a TV ad off the air in which he stated he would “stand up to her” if he had to in Congress, according to reporting by POLITICO’s Nick Reisman. From the sound of things, Gendebien doesn’t have the backbone to even disagree with Kathy Hochul on where to go for dinner.
This pattern of deception and refusal to admit his close ties to the most unpopular Democrats in the country is not new: Gendebien was recently asked on WUTQ-FM's Talk of the Town who he plans to vote for in New York’s gubernatorial race. Gendebien refused to answer, and was taken to task by a host who said “I'm listening to you for this half hour. You do not answer questions directly, people who vote for you want to know how you stand on these issues. People are saying ‘this guy must be a good dancer because he dances around the questions.’”
Blake Gendebien even refused to admit he voted for Kamala Harris until a year after the election, and only did so following a flurry of media attention when he was cornered by reporters.
“Blake Gendebien is a sellout profiteer who has spent his campaign lying about his associations, motivations, and background,” said Anthony Constantino. “He won’t even come clean to voters on what percent of his farm he actually owns, despite basing his whole campaign on him being a ‘farmer.’ He pocketed $60,000 of raised campaign funds, and bought himself a car on the dime of well-meaning donors. He is a liar running a campaign of deception, to the point where my lawyers have forced him to stop running ads because of the overt and indefensible lies.”
While Gendebien pretends to be a moderate, he fundraises and holds events with the most radical Democrats in the House, including Trump impeachment manager & gun-grabber Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), who has called for gun bans, trans surgeries for children, and for ICE officers to be prosecuted and put in jail.
