Edinburg, NY – 15 October 2026 – Blake Gendebien continues to lie and deceive voters about who he plans to support in the New York gubernatorial race. This comes after he was caught on a hidden audio recording admitting Kathy Hochul was unpopular, then saying she did a good job.
As reported by the New York Post, Gendebien refused to say on live radio whether he supports Kathy Hochul or Bruce Blakeman, despite having deep ties to Kathy Hochul, and a bulk of his campaign being staffed and funded by Kathy Hochul. Blake Gendebien is being overtly deceptive by refusing to answer the question.
When the New York Post followed up on Thursday, his campaign doubled down. It didn't say whether Gendebien supports Hochul and instead tried to change the subject by attacking Anthony Constantino. State Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs, one of Hochul’s closest allies, openly excused Gendebien’s refusal to back the governor, explaining that he needs Republican votes to win: the Democrat Party is openly saying Blake Gendebien won’t say who he is voting for because they want to shield Gendebien’s ties to Hochul, deceiving Republican voters into supporting Gendebien.
The original dodge came on the October 8 edition of WUTQ’s Talk of the Town. Asked directly about the governor’s race, Gendebien said, “What I support is anyone that will help the North Country be absolutely successful.” His evasion was so obvious that one of the show’s co-hosts called him out on air, noting that listeners were saying “this guy must be a good dancer because he dances around the questions.”
In audio from a September 3 “Health Activist Town Hall,” he admitted the governor is deeply unpopular in the district: “She is underwater, she has a negative net-favorability, for whatever reason. I don’t know why that is.” In the same breath, he praised Hochul for having “worked hard to provide funding and opportunities.”
That funding includes his own campaign. The Hochul-led state Democratic Party is helping bankroll Gendebien’s race, and when he ran an ad this summer claiming he would stand up to Hochul, he pulled it after her allies threatened to cut him off from coordinated party support.
“Blake Gendebien won’t debate, won’t say who he supports for governor, and won’t clean up his dump,” said Anthony Constantino. “We know he’s voting for Kathy Hochul. He’s a dishonest Hochul puppet who hired a Communist named Ximena and a foreign citizen named Grabovska.”
Gendebien has now refused twice, once on the radio and once to the New York Post. It is a yes-or-no question, and every reporter covering this race should put it to him on the record: Will Blake Gendebien vote for Kathy Hochul? Voters, and readers of all Upstate NY publications, deserve answers.
